WHAT TO DO IN HOSSEGOR
Beyond surfing, activities include cycling, hiking in the forest, yoguing, partying or having a few oysters by the lake.
AND IF YOU FEEL LIKE EXPLORING, Biarritz and Guéthary are 35 minutes away. SOME PINTXOS AT SAN SEBASTIAN MEANS ONLY 45-MINUTE DRIVE AND, OF COURSE THE MYTHIC DUNE DU PILAT.
WHAT TO PACK:
ESSENTIALS
Pack light, but take the essentials: sunscreen, beach towel, flip-flops, swimwear and some warm clothes for the cooler evenings. sunglasses and a hat are always useful, and if you have a favourite surfboard or wetsuit, take them with you.
METEO AND
SURF APPAREL
From April to October, Hossegor offers mostly good weather, occasional rain, and cooler nights, so packing a hoodie is always a good idea. Spring (April-June) can be a mix of SUN and cHILL, with the ocean still fresh—a 3/2mm wetsuit is a good call. Summer (July-August) is warm, with sunny days and mild evenings; the water gets comfortable, but a shorty or a light wetsuit might still be useful. Autumn (September-October) is prime surf season, with warm water, fewer crowds, and consistent swells—a 3/2mm wetsuit will do the job.
WHAT ABOUT SURF
AND YOGA
We’ve got surf gear available for rent at the house—3/2 wetsuits, a few shorties, and a selection of soft top boards between 7’ and 8’6”.
If you're looking to take a surf lesson, we team up with a local surf school we trust. They’ll pick you up at the house and drop you off after, easy and smooth.
Yoga sessions happen on the terrace, with a mix of vinyasa and surf-friendly stretches, designed to help your body flow better in and out of the water.
